Does this race benefit a charity?

Proceeds raised through the Ugly Sweater Run benefit Save the Children. Save the Children invests in childhood – every day, in times of crisis and for our future. In the United States and around the world, Save the Children gives children a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. We encourage all of our runners to make a donation to Save the Children at the time of registering. Every dollar counts! What kind of volunteer opportunities are there?

The Ugly Sweater Run has many different stations that all need rockstar volunteers. Some of our stations include registration, water/hot chocolate station, festival beautification, and of course spreading holiday cheer.

Can I volunteer with my friends?

We encourage you to sign up with your friends and we guarantee you’ll make some along the way!  If you have a specific station you and your group would like to work at, let us know and we’ll try to place you accordingly.

Can I choose what station I volunteer at?

If you see a station that you absolutely HAVE to volunteer at, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request, but trust us, all the stations are full of good tidings and cheer!

What do I need to bring?

You and your ugly sweater are a must, along with great attitude and holiday cheer! Also, make sure to bring gloves and layers because even if you’re in Hawaii, there is a chance of snow!

Will my clothes get dirty or ruined?

Unless you spill hot chocolate on yourself, we don’t foresee any outfits getting messy or ruined!

Where do I meet the volunteer coordinator on race day?

You can meet your coordinator at the packet pick up area! Just look for the person in the Ugly Sweater!

What if there is bad weather?

Rain or shine (or snow) The Ugly Sweater Run will still go on!

Can I get community service hours for volunteering?

Absolutely! Our Ugly Sweater Run staff is more than willing to sign off on community service hours for any volunteer. Just bring your paperwork and we’ll sign away!

How long are volunteer hours?

Volunteering will last about 4 cheerful hours!

Will there be a place for volunteers to store their belongings?

We recommend bringing the least amount of valuables into the race with you as possible. Just bring what you can carry, but don’t forget to bring your holiday cheer!!
