Kahlúa wants to hook you up with a complimentary post-race cocktail (21+ only). Stick to the script. Please enjoy responsibly.
Can kids participate?
All kids 5 and under are FREE. If they would like a hat, you can purchase extras during your registration on Active.com. Forgot to add hats? Easy fix, you can log back into Active.com and select purchase additional merchandise. Or since they’re only $10 each snap a few up on race day.
Can I push a stroller/wheelchair?
Depends. Have you been eating your Wheaties? Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed during the run. We recommend decking your ride out in something festive as well.
Can I bring my dog?
We would love to have your 4-legged friends at The Ugly Sweater Run if the venue allows (sorry NO dogs at our Boston event, but you have Gillette)! Just remember it is your responsibility to pick up after them. The following cities are officially ready for a dog-gone good time: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, DC, Denver, Hartford, NYC, Philly, and Seattle.
Are there refunds?
We have a no refunds policy.
Is this a timed event?
No. If you want to wear spandex under your sweater and race fast, that’s cool, but you’re missing the point. This is a fun-run meant to burn some calories before slamming Hot Chocolate and immediately putting those calories back in.
How do I transfer my registration?
Visit Active.com and click on “My Events.” Click “Transfer Registration to Another Athlete.” Follow the steps.
How do I sign up with a group?
During registration, you will have the option to create or join a team. Don’t let making a Team hold you back. You can always change your mind after you register. Plus, the names are quite entertaining. Now go take a peek!
Can someone else pick up my packet?
Yes, just make sure they have a copy of your event ticket registration.
Does this race benefit a charity?
It sure does! The Ugly Sweater Run is partnered with One Warm Coat.
Health experts report that even a 2-degree drop in body temperature results in reduced heart rate, loss of coordination, and confusion. Adults cannot work effectively and children find it difficult to learn. For most, a warm coat solves the problem. But, for the nearly 15% of Americans living in poverty, a warm winter coat is a budget “extra.” Go to www.onewarmcoat.org for more information.
Please consider the donation of your gently used coats at Ugly Sweater Run events this year.
Are bikes allowed?
Nope. However, reindeers and sleighs are. That’s a joke.
How do you feel about walkers?
We love walkers. Feel free to walk, jog, skip, or dance through the 3.1 miles. We just ask that you be aware of runners, please!
What do I get with my registration fee?
3.1 miles of a holiday party to remember! Plus, a runner’s bib, a custom collectible knit hat, a finisher’s medal, and a complimentary Kahlúa cocktail (21+).
Can I register the day of the event?
Our events have limited space available. If registration is NOT sold out, we will have day of event registration. However, to guarantee your entry, you should probably sign up now!
Is there a lost and found?
Yes. We will have a lost and found during the event at the registration tents. If you notice you lost something after the race feel free to email [email protected] and we’ll do our best to track it down.
I can not participate. Can I still get my packet?
Yes, you can pick up your packet at Packet Pick on the Friday before your event from 2-7 PM. Check your city’s page for details and exclusive discounts from our sponsored locations. We will also be at the event beginning two hours before start time to hand out packets. The line gets long so we strongly suggest picking it up on Friday.
I have a friend who wants to volunteer. Can they help?
Absolutely! We love our volunteers or Ugly Elves as we affectionately call them. Our Elves help make this the Merriest 5k of the Year. The volunteer page has all the pretty perks of being an Ugly Sweater Run Elf. Ready to sign up? Email our Volunteer Coordinator, Carol at [email protected] and she’ll get you on The Elf List.
Aid stations on course?
There will be 2 aid stations on course serving water.
