The Ugly Elves are the backbone of this event. Our Volunteers help with checking in participants, passing out swag, handing out beverages, spreading holiday cheer, and seriously putting the Elf in selfie.
All volunteers will receive the following:
- A comfy beanie
- A free run (if you volunteer at packet pick-up the day prior to the event)
- Free Hot Chocolate
- Kahlúa wants to hook you up with a complimentary post-race cocktail (21+ only). Please enjoy responsibly.
- Community service hours
- The Merriest 5K of your life
You can even log some community service hours! Come on, it’s the holiday season! Time to be the upstanding citizen you always wanted to be.
We are looking for as many helpful elves as possible so tell your friends, family, and estranged co-workers.
Where should volunteers check in?
We will be emailing all volunteers 1 week prior to the event with more information about where to go. We encourage everyone to sign up to volunteer as soon as possible to make sure you receive our email with final volunteer details and holiday fun!

What should volunteers bring and wear?
A great attitude is a must. Ugly sweaters are encouraged but not required. We recommend bringing gloves and layers.
Can I get community service hours?
Absolutely! Our Ugly Sweater Run staff is more than willing to sign off on community service hours for any volunteer. Just bring your paperwork and we’ll sign away!
